Where We Eat
The Chadar Ochel (Dining Hall) was designed to accommodate the entire camp. It is a place where the spirit of camp can truly be felt.
We eat three meals a day as a community. Each meal starts with the Motzi (blessing before the meal). All meals are well-balanced, and most are served family-style in the dining hall, with cabins eating together at assigned tables.
Our menu is kosher style (no pork or shellfish). Breakfast includes hot items plus cold & hot cereal. Lunch and dinner include a hot entrée, as well as the option to visit the salad bar or get a sunflower butter & jelly sandwich (no nuts). Whenever meat is served, a vegetarian option is offered. We make additional accommodations on an as-needed basis for campers with special allergy or health-related diets. Find more information on our meals and nutrition here.
Each meal is concluded with Birkat Ha’Mazon (blessing after a meal) and then a fun-filled song session with the entire camp singing together.
Where We Sleep
Our Cabins
Our cabins are nestled under the trees in the woods. Each cabin houses up to 16 campers and three or four staff members, sleeping in bunk beds. Every camper is assigned a bed and a set of cubbies for storing personal items. All top bunks are equipped with bed rails and cabins are equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, multiple exits, and emergency lighting.

Where We Swim
goldman union camp aquatic center (GUCAC)
There’s nothing like cooling off with a dip in the pool!
The GUCAC is comprised of two swimming pools that are the center of the action at camp on a hot day. Each pool has a shallow and a deep end and a diving board. But the biggest hit at the pool are the two water slides (one big and one small slide), along with the Aquaclimb, a pool-based climbing wall over the deep end.
Where we pray
The Beit tefillah
Our outdoor chapel provides a beautiful setting for creative, inspiring worship services. Under the trees and surrounded by nature, campers and song leaders lead the camp in prayer, singing and spirtuality.
Where we push ourselves
The migdal
60 feet of awesome climbing! The Alpine Tower (or Migdal, as it’s called), is the perfect way to challenge yourself and develop strong teamwork skills with your cabin mates. You can’t do this at home. It’s great fun!
The Etgar
Our high ropes course is a fantastic way to challenge yourself after you’ve conquered the Migdal!
The zipline
Imagine soaring through the air while attached safely to a line. The zip line is connected to the Etgar and makes for a fun activity.
Where We Build Comraderie
athletic field
Do you like to play sports? GUCI offers a wide range of outdoor activities and sports:
- Softball/Kickball Diamond: Come swing a bat or hang out in the bleachers and watch a game.
- Basketball Courts: This wouldn’t be Indiana if we didn’t have basketball. The courts are even lighted for night games. One court has 8-foot hoops for our younger campers.
- Tennis Courts: Three lighted courts, perfect for practicing your stroke.
- Other facilities include a soccer field, Gaga pit, open multi-purpose field perfect for an Ultimate Frisbee game or a big game of capture the flag.
Where we end friday night
midruah
Where We heal
mir’pa-ah (infirmary)
Our Infirmary is located at the center of camp. This is where our live-on medical team help campers and staff to feel their best. It is also where we keep all of our non-emergency medications. The medical staff dispense medications as needed four times per day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and bedtime).
