The spirit of camp revolves around our Chadar Ochel (dining hall). The entire camp eats together 3 times a day. We say Hamotzi (blessing over the meal) before we eat and chant Birkat Hamazon (grace after meals) after we eat. Every meal is followed by a spirited song session lead by our camp song leaders. Meal times are when we hear the Hoda’ot (announcements?!) and find out what the day has in store.

Our food is prepared with love and served family style; there is always plenty to go around. Friday nights we have a festive Shabbat camp family meal followed by singing and dancing during song session.

In addition to the main course, campers can always go to the salad bar or make a sunbutter (nutfree) and jelly sandwich. In addition to meals, campers get at least one snack a day and there is always fresh fruit available.

Goldman Union Camp’s food is kosher style. Although, not a kosher facility, we do not serve pork or shellfish, or products containing them, and do not permit such products on camp grounds. Whenever meat is served, a vegetarian option is offered, and a non-dairy dessert is made available. We will also accommodate campers on special allergy or health-related diets. Please make us aware of your needs in advance.
