about guci

GUCI is a Reform Jewish Movement summer camp serving the Midwest since 1958. A great deal about our camp simply cannot be expressed within the confines of a website. The friendships that last a lifetime…the sense of Jewish belonging instilled in our young people… the role models and mentors that are recognized by campers… a “second home” where campers and staff alike flourish as they create our camp community.

Under the Direction of Jeremy Klotz, the Leadership Staff, Counselors and Faculty create a warm, friendly environment and program that includes creative and experiential Jewish education, arts, sports, and swimming activities. GUCI’s well trained staff excels at caring for each camper and helping as they adjust, enjoy, learn and grow throughout the summer. Campers return home after each session with memories and friendships that last a lifetime.

More than a summer camp.

GUCI is a community where everyone feels at home. Our campers and staff create and live in an atmosphere not only where it is cool to be Jewish, but where it is celebrated. Our Jewish heritage, history and values are integral parts of our program.

Through activities specifically designed to build friendships within both cabin groups and grade-specific units, campers are part of a greater Jewish community made up of thousands of alumni who have enjoyed a summer in Zionsville (the beautiful city our camp is housed in, outside of Indianapolis).

The social and Jewish impact of camp lasts a lifetime with many of our campers returning summer after summer. In fact, more than 90 percent of our summer staff is comprised of former GUCI campers who loved their experience so much they wanted to provide the same experience for others.

There is a sense of magic that is created at GUCI and is handed down from generation to generation.

Goldman Union Camp Institute is a place where children grow and mature into responsible, knowledgeable Jewish young adults. What they take from camp never leaves them…the friends…the music…the campfires…the education…the memories that only GUCI can provide.
