Give The Gift of GUCI

Our camp community is united across generations by many blessings: The beautiful sounds and energy of a Shabbat song session; the exuberance and friendly competition
of yom sport; t’fillot (services) created and led by our campers; and bunk nights that brought us together as a cabin.

For thirty-seven years, our camp community has shared another blessing, and that has been the warm and welcoming embrace of Susan Dill. Susan has been the voice of camp for as long as many of us can remember. Susan has been a trusted confidant and advisor to three camp directors. She has overseen camp’s registration process and managed our office. She has comforted many parents through the years and has been an empathetic listener and dispenser of practical wisdom for generations of camp families, staff, Avodah and alumni. In short, Susan has been synonymous with camp for close to four decades.

In recognition of the immeasurable impact Susan has had on camp, we are thrilled to announce the naming of the Susan Dill Camper Scholarship Fund. We can think of no better way to honor Susan’s lifelong dedication to camp than to permanently associate her name with the fund that makes it possible for so many Jewish kids to experience the magic and wonder of GUCI.

Many families are unable to fully afford to send their kids to Goldman Union Camp; it is our scholarship fund that makes their attendance possible. That scholarship fund relies entirely on the generosity of our camp community. Dollars donated today will help ensure that cost is not the deciding factor when families consider their summer options. Over one-third of our campers received financial assistance from camp in 2015, and we anticipate the need will be greater in 2016. This year, we ask that you honor Susan by being as generous as possible. Let’s show Susan our appreciation for her decades of service to camp by ensuring that no camper is turned away from a summer in Zionsville.

You can donate online through our website. Please do not hesitate to call camp with any questions or to discuss your donation with Jeremy.

Thank you in advance for your generous support. We wish you and your families a happy and healthy holiday season. We look forward to welcoming you back home to Zionsville, whether for an entire summer or Shabbat visit.

Warmly,

Jeremy Klotz, Director                Steven Derringer, Chair, Board of Advisors
