Last But Not Least…Our Anaf Unit Head David Reinhart
Shalom all, my name is David Reinhart. I’m 23 years old and am excited to be back at camp for one last summer as Anaf Unit Head. I was born in Cedar Rapids, IA but moved, before I was two, to Louisville, KY. Then, just before my Bar Mitzvah, I moved to Buffalo Grove, IL where my family still lives. For the past five years, I’ve lived in Ann Arbor, MI where I attended the University of Michigan and graduated last year with a B.S. in Anthropology with a focus in evolution. This fall I am beginning the next stage in my life and will be moving to Minneapolis, MN where I will attend the University of Minnesota Law School.
This summer is my sixth year on staff and just the last stage in what has been an incredible 18 years. I began at GUCI in 1996 as a so called “staff brat” while my mom was on Top Deck as Project Director. Then from 1998 to 2007, I went through Garin, Shoresh, Gezah, Anaf, GUCI’s Israel trip, and Avodah. In 2008, I started on staff as a Machonik and progressed to Senior Staff, Sports Specialist, Anaf Head Counselor, and, for the last two years, an Avodah Unit Head. I’m glad that this summer I have the new challenge of being Anaf Unit Head.
