Shabbat Shalom from GUCI!

Throughout the first week of camp, campers and staff alike took tremendous care to keep each other safe. We did this by podding in cabin groups, wearing masks when with other cabins and social distancing from other pods. With these precautions in place, we created a bubble for our community, and after conducting two rounds of PCR testing, we am thrilled to share that our entire camp community has tested NEGATIVE for COVID-19!

We shared this fantastic news with our camp community and what a moment it was! GUCI alum Dan Nichols is here and led a beautiful song session with so much ruach (spirit)! The joy exhibited by our campers and staff was truly moving and indicative of how fantastic the rest of this summer will be. Our fantastic communications crew was there to capture it for you to experience – check out the video here. This was a great moment for our community and last night we celebrated Shabbat as an entire camp for the first time since 2019.

We will continue to watch our community closely for any COVID-19 symptoms and will be able to test to confirm or deny the continued absence of COVID-19 in camp.  Thank you very much for your support, cooperation and patience as we navigated this important, complex and sometimes frustrating task of creating a safe and healthy environment for our camp community.

We look forward to the next several weeks together, and are prepared to do it again for Kallah Bet (Second Session).
