A Summer of Excitement

By Gabi Schneider, Director of Communications

Hi there, GUCI Family! My name is Gabi Schneider and I am the Director of Communications this summer. I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati, at which I studied marketing, business analytics and public relations. I am the product of summer camp and truly believe GUCI plays a role in the development of leadership skills and Jewish identities. I am so excited I have the opportunity to spend my summer sharing the GUCI magic with our camp family via blog and social media. I’ve spent 14 summers at many different camps and nothing compares to the community created at GUCI. The people, programming and ruach (spirit) present at 9349 Moore Road is truly one-of-a-kind.

Just as I am, our staff members are beyond excited for campers to arrive! We asked our counselors and senior staff members what they are most excited about for the summer. All of the responses align with the community we’ve created at GUCI:

“Making relationships with my campers like I had with my counselors.” –Alyson Yawitz

“I’m pumped to foster a strong and beautiful community within the campers and staff, and I’m also pumped to make other people feel good about themselves in their roles.” –Carly Chernomorets

“I’m excited to be doing something I love with people I love.” –Shira Morosohk

“Being the best counselor I can possibly be.” –Marc Folkman

“Positively impacting and contributing to camp.” –Shirah Kraus

“Planning creative and fun programs, learning from my campers and other counselors.” –Noa Tan

“The personal connections I’ll make with kids and to be a role model” –Ethan Smilg

“Changing the lives of kids and helping staff grow into the leaders they are capable of being.” –Josh Latzko

“Seeing my campers grow as people and learn about themselves more and their Jewish identity.” –Benny Falender

Share with us! What are you most excited for this summer?
